Fox To Air Joe Circumcised |
Network To Build On Success of Joe Millionaire With First of Many 'Edgier' Joe-Themed Series
|
Society - Encouraged by the success of its Joe Millionaire TV series, the Fox Network has announced plans for a number of similar Joe-themed productions, beginning with this fall's ground-breaking Joe Circumcised.
Joe Millionaire, which aired its first episode on Monday night, features an ordinary blue-collar worker who must choose a mate from among 20 eager women. The bachelorettes think he's a multi-millionaire, and he's got the house, the car and the servants (all courtesy of Fox) to prove it. At the end of the show's run, when 'Joe' has chosen a winner, he must reveal his deception, and she must decide if it's him - or his money - that she really cares about.
"Joe Circumcised will take the Joe Millionaire concept to a whole new level," said Fox executive Mike Darnell. "Women say that it's the man - and not his penis - that really matters. We're going to put that to the test."
Like its predecessor, Joe Circumcised will center around a deception - the man, Lowell Thurber, will convince his aspiring lovers that he is a clean, well-groomed man with a smooth, attractive, circumcised penis. Only at the end of the show, when he has chosen his mate, will he reveal the truth - his hideous, filthy, uncircumcised cock.
In order to maintain the ruse, the contestants are prohibited from seeing Thurber naked or going beyond first base before the show is over.
"We think this rougher, edgier concept will really appeal to our viewers," Darnell said. "We all know that beauty is only skin deep. But is it foreskin deep? I don't know what that means, but it's something to think about."
Darnell emphasized that the show is intended for both male and female viewers. "I mean, just because the show is about some dude's uncut schlong, that doesn't mean guys can't watch it. It doesn't make you a fag, or anything."
Eager to cash in on a successful concept, Fox will soon begin production of several more series, such as Joe Democrat, in which a man who initially claims to be a liberal must reveal his true right-wing political leanings; and Joe Fertile, in which the bachelor must convince his prospective mates that he is a potential father, when in fact his sperm are cold and lifeless.
"We can't wait to get these shows into production," Darnell announced excitedly. "We've got other concepts in the works, too. When you see Joe Well-Adjusted, Joe Twoballs, Joe Hetero, and Joe Gentile, you are going to be blown away."
